Stranger Things 3: The Game Download PC Game

Developed in an action role-playing game style, Stranger Things 3: The Game will take you through the story by giving you quests that will allow you to tour the major landmarks of Hawkins. These quests involve solving short puzzles and hunting collectibles. However, there will also be times where you engage in a boss fight against evils from the Upside Down.

There are 12 playable characters in the game that you can unlock. Each of these characters has their own combat style and special abilities that you can use to taunt, disable, or completely obliterate your enemy. At the beginning of the game, players can only control Mike and Lucas and swap between them to overcome obstacles. However, as you progress in the game, you will be able to unlock Eleven, Dustin, Will, Hopper, Joyce, Jonathan, Nance, and Billy. In addition to their special abilities, you can also equip and power up your characters with items discovered throughout Hawkins.

However, if you want to play solo, the game also comes with a solo campaign. You can use the buddy commands to control the actions of both characters. But who wants to play alone when you can play with your buddies, right?

After completing the entirety of the game, you can unlock the Eliminator mode. This mode unlocks the entire party at the start of the game. However, once your character dies, it stays dead for the rest of the game.

[UPDATE 09/02/21] By no later than the evening of September 1st, the remaining console and PC versions of the game were also delisted. iOS and Android as well. Our original post from August 30th follows:

The trailer for Stranger Things 3: The Game (which is a confusing name considering that this is actually the first Stranger Things game on console and PC) dropped on YouTube, and it gives us a pretty solid idea of what to expect from the game.

It is important to warn anyone thinking of both watching the show, and playing the game, that Stranger Things 3: The Game does have quite a few spoilers, as it covers the story of Season 3. So you may want to binge the whole thing on Netflix before picking this up. Regardless, if you want the chance to play the first game to include Winona Ryder as a playable character, Stranger Things 3 is available today on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

Jamie Latour is a writer and actor based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. From his hyperactive childhood to his....Well, still hyperactive adulthood, he's been writing and performing in some capacity for practically his entire life. His love for video games goes all the way back to the age of 4, playing Mega Man 3 for the first time on his NES. He's an avid gamer and can be found nowadays either messing around in Red Dead 2, or being cheap as can be as Reaper in Overwatch. He's still starting out when it comes to making online content, but aside from his writing he can found on his Twitch page under the handle SpontaneousJames. You can also find him on social media as @SpontaneousJam on Twitter (because Spontaneous James was too long apparently).

Stranger Things 3: The Game is being delisted from Steam, GOG (opens in new tab), and the Epic Games Store (opens in new tab) on August 31. Anyone who owns the game on either storefront prior to its removal will continue to have full access to it, but it will no longer be available for purchase.

A reason for the delisting wasn't provided, but my guess is that Netflix is reclaiming control over its properties in order to further its own gaming ambitions. In May, the company announced a new push into gaming, which it solidified in July by hiring former Oculus content VP Mike Verdu as vice president of game development. And it's probably not a coincidence that Netflix is now testing Stranger Things 3, and Stranger Things: 1984, through its mobile app in Poland.

And it's not just the games that are disappearing. The Stranger Things 3: The Game Twitter account has been deleted (here's a cached version on the Wayback Machine (opens in new tab)) and BonusXP's Stranger Things 3 web page is also gone (opens in new tab).

Update: The Epic Store listing for Stranger Things 3 does not contain a delisting notification, but a BonusXP confirmed that it will be removed from sale on the same date. Anyone who purchases the game prior to its removal will continue to have access to it.
